About the Chorale
The Chorale of Southwest Florida is an independent ensemble of dedicated vocalists serving the communities of Lee and Collier Counties. Our members, aged 58 to 96, are united by a shared passion for music. We operate as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization under the name New Chorale of SWF, Inc., officially recognized by the State of Florida, the Department of State, and the Florida Department of Financial Services.
Performances & Rehearsals
The Chorale presents two seasonal concert programs each year:
Holiday Program in December, with rehearsals beginning in October
Spring Program in March or April, with rehearsals beginning in January
Rehearsals take place weekly on Friday afternoons from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, located at 15600 N. Tamiami Trail, Naples, FL 34110 (1.5 miles south of Bonita Beach Road).

Our History
The Chorale of Southwest Florida was founded in 2012 by Richard T. Holmberg and a small group of about 10 singers. Since then, the group has grown to more than 40 members during the season. Our performances include a mix of traditional Christmas and Hanukkah pieces for the Holiday Concert and a variety of show tunes and classical selections for the Spring Concert.
Following Richard’s passing on November 24, 2015, both the 2015 Holiday Concert and the 2016 Spring Concert were dedicated in his memory.
Our Leadership
After Richard’s passing, Ruth Lindmeyer—formerly his Assistant Director—took on the role of Director. A native of Austin, Minnesota, Ruth studied Music Education at the University of Minnesota, completing both undergraduate and graduate work with an emphasis on vocal music. She is certified to teach orchestra and band for grades K–12 and has presented numerous workshops for music textbook companies and elementary classroom educators.
Ruth’s vibrant energy inspires and uplifts our members, creating a joyful and engaging musical environment.
We are also proud to have Evie Odland as our accompanist and deeply appreciate Jerry Lindmeyer, whose percussion talents add richness to our performances with drums, cymbals, and various instruments.
Leadership Transition
After more than a decade of dedicated service, Carol Belfiori stepped down as President in 2024. The Chorale extends heartfelt thanks for her years of leadership. Cindy Beherns assumed the role in 2024, and we look forward to continued growth under her guidance.
