Our mission is to enrich the lives of seniors in our community by offering a welcoming space to sing, socialize, and share the joy of music. Singing offers profound cognitive benefits for older adults, stimulating memory, language abilities, and emotional expression by engaging multiple regions of the brain.
In addition to performing public concerts that welcome audiences of all ages, we bring music directly to senior centers, reaching those who may not be able to attend community events due to mobility or health challenges. Just as singing is beneficial for participants, listening to live music can also enhance cognitive well-being and help reduce symptoms of depression among seniors.
We are committed to expanding opportunities for senior engagement through music. This includes offering additional concert formats and launching new programs. Our first major expansion is a planned summer program to complement our winter schedule, which primarily serves the seasonal “snowbird” population. With a growing number of year-round residents in Lee and Collier Counties—over 80% of Lee County’s adult population is over age 50—there is a clear need to serve this broader demographic.
Future plans also include forming smaller, specialized ensembles, such as a barbershop quartet and a madrigal group, to diversify our musical outreach. These versatile groups will be central to our "Mobile Melodies" initiative, which brings high-quality, intimate performances to hospital wards and Veterans’ residential facilities, ensuring that the healing power of music is accessible to everyone, regardless of their physical location.
